It was an Easter in Germany when David’s parents gifted him with his first Kodak camera. Enamored with the idea of seeking out landscapes pictured on postcards, David made it his mission to find and recreate as many of the scenes as possible.
Little did he know that this young artistic endeavor would influence his entire life and ultimately set the path for his successful career as a commercial photographer specializing in landscapes, automobiles and people. Over the past 10 + years David has worked for a number of clients including but not limited to Subaru, VW, Ford and Jeep as well as agencies including The Designory, Team Detroit and more. With each project David brings their ideas to life with one unifying deliverable, breathtaking landscapes.
David seeks out places that will enhance the image and engage the viewer. Although he is a master technician when it comes to lighting highly reflective surfaces, David feels that finding the perfect place is just as important to creating a compelling final image.
This approach is exactly what landed David a campaign with Team Detroit for the Ford Explorer. On a road trip starting in northern California, up the Oregon Coast and into southern Washington, David and his team sought out beautiful and unique locations to illustrate the vehicles ability to cart you off to a multitude of experiences and adventures.
David tells us his favorite experience on this particular project was the fun he had with the agency’s art director as well as his on-set CGI artist on and off the road. This symbiosis between creative partners always results in successful collaborations and this project was no different.
David has a lot on deck for the coming months and we are excited to share more of his dynamic portfolio with you now that he is a part of the Doug Truppe roster. Welcome David!
