When we talk about car photography we talk a lot about location. It can make all the difference in composing an eye-catching shot. David Westphal knows how to pick just the right place so for his recent shoot for the Nissan NV200 he chose the iconic 6th street bridge in Downtown LA. This bridge is famous for cameos in everything from large budget films including Grease to small photo shoots.

As David tells us, “The 6th street bridge was one of my favorite places to see downtown from a distance. The steel girders of the bridge harkened to an earlier industrial age that doesn’t really exist anymore.”  What made this production even more special is that David and his team had the last official shoot at this site before it was torn down to make way for a new and safer suspension bridge.

This will forever change the downtown landscape and retire a popular industry go to. As per usual, David worked closely with the Art Director on this project to formulate ideas from the beginning stages. This may not be the sexiest automotive of 4 wheels, but David and his team sure made it look good and most importantly, functional. Bike tune up, please.
