Kevin Steele Pictures A Day in the Life of Edge-on-Hudson: A New View on the River
The Hudson River Valley is going through a rebirth with the opening and development of miles of Hudson River shoreline, creating a slice of paradise north of Manhattan. Kevin reveals life at the new residences at Edge-on-Hudson adding his signature sense of place. Imagine yourself in a vibrant new community offering a suburban lifestyle connected to the legends of Sleepy Hollow and the beauty of the historic Hudson River Valley. Just an hour away by metro rail from the buzz of New York City, this new destination offers millennials, gen-Xers and youthful boomers an invitation to resort-style living with an urban flair.
Toni Alexander, president/creative director of Intercommunications, Inc., and Carolyn Marek, media director /account manager, wanted a strong photographer for a lifestyle campaign that required imagination for an evolving project for client Edge-on-Hudson. They knew Kevin Steele was the ideal choice to create scenes of active lifestyle from the casual to the epic. To quote Toni, “We picked Kevin Steele because of his ability to compose a photo shoot with so much naturalness and believability…”. Shot over two days on location in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, Kevin lets us spend a typical weekend with locals.
We experience the small town charm and feel the way it connects to the natural beauty, history and culture of this unique area.
Collaborating with the agency and client, Kevin follows a young couple as they enjoy a morning run on scenic trails, explore the river on kayak and take an evening stroll to a historic lighthouse for a breathtaking sunset. According to Toni “His athleticism enabled him also to capture action and adventure that was so important for bringing our client’s products to life.” Further scenes show friends meeting up on the waterfront promenade, enjoying coffee at a picturesque café and picnicking at Kingsland Point Park. They end the day with riverside drinks against a stunning background of the new Governor Mario M. Cuomo (Tappan Zee) Bridge framed with shimmering lights of the Manhattan skyline.
Kevin has captured the best of all worlds as we experience urban bliss with riverfront living. With creative collaboration, careful scouting and detailed planning for three locations each day, Kevin and his seasoned production team create a wonderful vibe on set. The energy and organization yield a perfect shoot. Every image creates a story for a new way to live on the Edge. Kevin has added a new chapter to the fabled region while retaining its romance and mythology to reflect the great heritage of the Hudson River Valley.
