It’s a family affair when it comes to award-winning Blue Sky CGI and the CG animations they were asked to produce for Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC) for the 2017 Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting Booth (PCC is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway).

In 2016 the Blue Sky team created one 60-second animation for PCC’s booth and the response was so positive PCC came back in 2017 for more — three times more animation. Blue Sky was asked to consult with PCC on the best way to integrate their original footage of aircraft castings with two new 60-second animations into the booth presentation and design for the 2017 event.

The Blue Sky concept — make it a family of videos of new and existing animations for the world class PCC metal components and products to show their capabilities across multi industrial markets for aerospace, gas turbines and areas of defense. In new footage, the Interactive Gas Turbine (IGT) Display featured animations for 7HA Gas Turbines, high-efficiency, air-cooled gas turbines powering cities. Blue Sky has us travel through a forest at sunset to reveal a vibrant city with lights powering up for the night sky.

Footage featuring the 2016 aircraft castings and forgings was used in this video as we fly through the air and come upon a power plant to view illuminated heavy-duty gas turbine parts. On to beautiful, clean water and we follow a fish leading the way to a mystery object. A spectacular oil rig rises from the middle of the ocean for the Interactive Oil and Gas Display video. Blue Sky’s animations highlight the Casing and Tubing pressure-control products, manufacturing process and application for a presentation of raw technological power and strength.

For the third the part of the PCC video family, Blue Sky produced a 90-second Flyby animation. Against a slow-moving blue sky of fluffy white clouds, high-tech aircraft as the 787, A350, F35, SpaceX rockets and UCAVs zoom across the screen to feature sleek dynamic inner workings. Located in various stations at PCC’s 2017 Berkshire Hathaway Shareholder Meeting Booth, the Blue Sky family of videos was a sensation. For dramatic effect, the Flyby video was mounted on a 20-foot long LED screen above the booth. The blue sky-white cloud animation repeated every 15 minutes for a one-minute show and even had a countdown in the corner adding to the excitement.

When the countdown hit zero, the Flyby video went into full throttle with audio alerting people to stick around for the next presentation. PCC loved the buzz, loved the great foot traffic but were especially thrilled to hear, “Did you see the show at PCC?”
