Walter Smith Is Shaping the Future with Census 2020 Broadcast Campaign
The U.S. Census Bureau is working to shape the future and wants you. Photographer/director Walter Smith was tapped by Creative Director/Director Kevin Richards for Census 2020 to help promote the Bureau in recruiting thousands of people across the country to assist with the 2020 Census count.
With production handled by Danielle Lovett at Doublewide in LA, Walter shot 30-second broadcast video and print components for a bright, entertaining promotion to present the perfect opportunity for people to earn extra income while helping their communities.
Census takers come from everywhere and do an important job. Walter shows the many authentic faces of hard-working people as they go door-to-door to help fund localities for roads, schools and many more services. On location in southern California, thinking fast, and with no time for second-guessing, Walter had a lot of ground to cover wearing both hats as still photographer and director of photography.
The production is spot-on—a terrific way to inspire people all over the country to play a part in history and ensure everyone gets counted. The 2020Census.gov campaign is out now. See it in print, on the internet and broadcast video here:
